The House of Shadows

As a newly qualified police officer, Jakob Weber is tired of patrolling the streets of Bodø. When he is offered a job as local police chief in Beiarn, he sees it as a chance for a fresh start in a small, close-knit community. But the idyllic setting begins to crack before he has even unpacked.

His predecessor has died in a tragic accident. Jakob is the only one who refuses to accept the official explanation. When a resident of the local nursing home disappears without a trace, Jakob’s investigation leads him into a web of rumours, old conflicts and silent alliances in the village, concealing more than anyone is willing to admit. Then the missing man turns up again, alive. Only to die a few days later, under mysterious circumstances.
