Hans Erik Sande
A playful pioneer
Hans Sande debuted in 1969 with the poetry collection Strime, for which he was awarded the Tarjei Vesaas Debutant Prize. Writing chiefly in a stylish New Norwegian, his authorship is distinctive, wide-ranging and trailblazing – and has plenty of high points. Sande has been the recipient of many awards for his books, and he has been translated into multiple languages. He is a medical graduate and is a specialist in psychiatry alongside his work as an author. Sande was born in Bergen in 1946. He lives in Kvinnherad.
