Renaissance feminine horror
A loose novel of ideas
Charity, Carmenta and Ops, three renaissance feminists, live in the Castle of Passion, reconciling with the loss of Daddy's idea of utopian socialism. They share their memories, sorrows, reflections, and songs from bubble baths, sky high canopy beds, and pathless woods. The renaissance feminine try to create purpose through their desire-filled, angry, apathetic bodies. Outside, the world looms ever closer, through balls of fire in the sky, mysterious signs, their other sisters that have disappeared from the castle, and Rory from Gilmore Girls.
Renaissance feminine horror is a fable, a feminist lament of the loss of ideology, the loss of a shared, staked-out course of action, and an exploration of the new shapes belief can assume when it is abandoned.
