Easy Prey
A young boy is found killed in the Hardanger pool facilities in central Øystese. At the same time, a fifteen years old girl is reported missing. She failed to return home in the evening, and outside, one of the most powerful winter storms of the season are raging. In few days, enormous amounts of snow has fallen, and further in the Hardanger fjord there have been several avalanches. Airports and mountain roads are closed. The small town is effectively isolated from the rest of the world.
The murder investigation and the desperate search for the missing girl has the local police department stretched way too thin. And then, the small town gossip hint at dark secrets.
Slowly, a picture is pieced together of a youth environment where little girls sell nudes and vulnerable teenage girls use drugs and hang out with grown men. Chief Inspector Bengt Alvsaker heads an investigation where the leads are hidden away in dysfunctional families where hiding one’s own sins is more important than caring for one’s close ones.
Easy Prey is the fourth book in the series about Chief Inspector Bengt Alvsaker.
