Nora Vaar Nøtsund Bothner

Debuting children’s book author

Vaar Bothner (b. 1991) grew up in Kragerø and lives in Oslo.

She has a degree in landscape architecture from NMBU and UC Berkeley and works with urban development in Oslo. She is passionate about all life in the city – humans, animals, and vegetation – and is particularly interested in the ways our cities must be adapted to our changing climate.

For years, she has written for and been the editor of Kote, a magazine about our physical surroundings. She has also written for other magazines. In the book Five stories of landscape (2020) she is the co-author of a chapter about the “EU green deal”.

She also works on art projects of her own, where repurposed building materials is the starting point of her different projects.

Elli and Enter and the Great Plant Plan is her first children’s book.
