Kyrre Andreassen (born 1971) lives in Drammen. He made his debut in 1997 with the short-story collection Det er her du har venna dine. He holds a cand.mag. degree from the University of Oslo, where he studied the history of ideas, comparative literature and Nordic studies. His second book, the novel Barringer (1999), was nominated for the Brage Prize. He has also written two plays: the one-act Dette stedet (2002) and Polar (2003).
His novel Svendsen’s Catering was published in 2006 and won him Språklig samling's literary prize. In 2007 he received the Sult Prize for his writing. Furthermore, I Consider that Carthage Must be Destroyed (2016) was critically acclaimed and nominated for the Brage Prize. His novel Not People I Can Depend On (2024) won the Norwegian Critics' Prize and the Library Literature Prize.
